Emu Dash on our Jarrahdale Forest Tour - so lovely

The purpose of the tour was to direct us to locations near Jarrahdale and Serpentine Dam to see for ourselves sections of a healthy forest threatened by bauxite mining plus examples of Alcoa’s rehabilitated and active mining sites. We loved being in the forests but a highlight was going along a very bumpy road seeing Dad Emu with one chick, then out scurrying a second chick and the three tearing along the road in front of us. We were amazed at their speed. That was such a treat and well worth going along the bumpy road that shortly after seeing the emus Sally had to reverse until she could find enough clear space to turn around and retrace our way back to the bitumen.
