Bilgoman Well.....and Morning Tea

We gathered as usual at the carpark and discussed what was happening.  There was debate about the accessibility of Bilgoman Well, talk of going to the Giant Jarrah tree in Sawyers.  Some it was just about morning tea!  Mary from the Historical Society came and had a chat as she’s always interested in where we are going.  Annette was just reading to us about the history of the Well, and Mary was able to add a little although she hadn’t been to the site for a long time. Not to be daunted we set off for Bilgoman Well in Darlington Road.  We all scrambled up the narrow goat track to the first benches, some stopped and a couple continued on to the Well.  There is signage, benches to sit on and apparently some new plantings. The well is covered and has a small fence.  There is water visible maybe 2 metres down.  Returning to the bus we debated whether we’d try to find the giant jarrah tree in Sawyers Valley.  Those of us who have been there have walked in so we weren’t sure how to drive in.  Lyn made enquiries from relatives who live nearby, but in the end we decided not to risk damaging the bus on an unknown track.  There was also debate about whether we’d go to a Coffee shop or Annette’s place for morning tea.  We decided on Annette’s and were so glad we did.  Morning tea was delicious.  Thank you to Annette and her daughter Katherine.
