Kanyana and Lesmurdie Falls

The day was bright and sunny as we wound through the hills to Lesmurdie and Kanyana to learn how staff and principally volunteers look after injured/orphaned animals and/or conduct breeding programmes for endangered species. We enjoyed a visit with Mrs Echidna who likewise enjoyed a stroll in the sun. A fascinating hour - well, it stretched to two actually - a morning well spent. Into Kalamunda for a bite to eat at Mason & Bird café near the Visitor Centre, then back to Lesmurdie to walk down a well-constructed path to see water cascading down the falls before heading back to our home on the other side of the hills
