Nyaania Creek Walk

Beautiful sunny Monday morning and where else would we rather be?

We had instructions with "words missing" as Ray tells Sally often. We parked, even that caused much deliberation, then walked a bit then found the carpark and the gate. Beautiful wildflowers along that section of the walk. We set off along the track recognising some of the plants and admiring them of course. A very long rocky descent ahead and one of the party opted to return to the bus. We continued on.....down, down, down. At the bottom of the descent a Water Corporation worker confirmed that we were where we hoped we were and yes there was a sign a bit further on. We took photos and set off along the track. Very excited we found Nyaania Creek bubbling over the rocks, but the path was a dead end and we couldn't go any further. Puzzled we retraced our steps back to the road, then back to the Creek, consulted Google, and our instructions multiple times all to no avail. Despondently we decided that we'd have to go back the way we had come up that very steep incline. We were not excited. We were all very pleased to return to the bus. A 2.4 km circuit walk graded Easy had taken us 2.5 hours!!
