Bullcreek Wetlands - a short walk

The Bull Creek Wetland, on the land of the Wadjuk Beeliar people, is a series of dampland and wetland reserves linked by the Bull Creek. This out-and-back trail begins at the end of Curedale Mews and explores the length of the wetland. We didn't find it very wet and sadly it is very degraded and full of weeds. There is evidence of plantings and attempted care by a Friends group but the fight against invasive species is never-ending as we all know only too well. However, we enjoyed a stroll in the sunshine and saw some flowering plants along the way.

After our walk we drove the short distance to Lo Quay Cafe on the river at Wilson. This is a lovely cafe, full of life and people in a very picturesque setting and most of us enjoyed lunch there before heading back up the hill to home.
