Day in the Valley

Nearly a full bus on a true winter's day travelled down to the Swan Valley, stopping at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory for morning tea - some weakened - some didn't! Then on to St Mary's Church in Middle Swan - took some finding due to ignoring the satnav! A delightful lady, Janet gave us some history of the church and her own attachment to the area. Next we found Yagan Memorial Park, a wonderful stroll through a well-planted area just over the Yagan Bridge. Well-built rammed-earth walls, which were decorated by tiled and drawn murals, guided us along an easy pathway. A great find!

We followed this by having lunch in the well-crowded Henley Brook Tavern. A good day extended by some unexpected (or maybe not) scenic routes!
